An Arabic theme kitty in Ludhiana (Free recipe inside!)

Continuing with the love of Ludhiana for unique and culturally inspired kitties, this luncheon hosted by Mrs Nomita Khanna, transported its attendees to the mystical lands of the Arabic nations. From the folk tales of Aladdin and the magical lamp to the alluring dances and gastronomical delicacies of the deserts, this 1000 year old culture holds some of the most spectacular inspirations to host an outstanding kitty.

So this October, Mrs Nomita Khanna (the hostess), cooked her way to the Middle East and put up a lavish spread of exotic dishes bursting with freshness and intriguing flavours; right from the appetiser to the dessert. Using the backdrop of her master lounge, which is truly an ode to architectural beauty, she rightly replicated the splendid lifestyle of the Arab Sheikhs and offered her guests an experience that they are going to remember for a very long time.

BEETROOT PARCELS

Ingredients :

400 gm Beetroots

400 gm Mashed fresh cottage cheese

2 Chopped green chillies

2 tsp Chopped ginger

1/2 tsp Sugar

1 tsp Olive oil

Salt to taste

Method : Peel and slice beetroots into paper thin slices. Blanch in hot water with salt. Mash cottage cheese till smooth. In a bowl, mix green chillies, ginger, salt, sugar, olive oil and cottage cheese. Fill each beetroot slice with a little of this mixture and roll tightly. Tie with a string from a green onion. Steam theses rolls till done. About 6 minutes. Serve hot.
