Today is the perfect day to try the following recipes. With the sun hiding behind the misty clouds and the winter chill going down the spine, nothing is going to warm you up better than a snuggly cup of Kashmiri kahwa or a delicious brew of Saffron masala milk.
Here are the recipes…
1/2 litre – water
6 pcs -blanched and peeled almond slivers
3 strands -saffron
1/2 inch-cinnamon stick
Honey to taste
Pour in water and add 1/2inch of cinnamon stick in the pan. Cover it with a lid and let it boil for ten minutes. Add 3 strands of saffron and give it another boil. Serve it in short glasses topped with 2 tsp of honey and 1 tsp of blanched almond slivers. Stir it well before you serve.
P.S : Please check the quality of cinnamon o before you serve.
SAFFRON MASALA MILK
15 pcs-soaked and peeled almonds
1 tsp -wet wiped pistachio
1 tbsp – cashew (optional)
1 pinch -green elaichi powder
4 strands of saffron diluted in 1tsp of milk 3 cups of milk
Sugar to taste
Let the milk boil for ten minutes. Add almonds, cashew and pistachio in powdered form (coarsely or fine depending how you prefer) followed by sugar, saffron and elaichi powder. Keep brewing it till it begins to thicken. Pour it in nice glasses and garnish with pistachio slivers.
